Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution method that aims to resolve disputes in accordance with the agreement of the parties and without bringing them to the courts. Since being introduced in Turkey in 2013, mediation has seen a great increase in popularity. If parties consent to mediation, their disputes are communicated and managed by a mediator.

The application area of mediation continues to expand, especially due to the fact that mediation has become mandatory before any disputes that arise from labor law and commercial law may be brought before the courts.
